First Communion
We believe that Jesus Christ is truly present in
the Eucharist. This is why Vatican II called the
Eucharist “the source and summit of Christian
life.” We believe this because Jesus said,
“Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood
has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last
day.” The children who will be receiving the
Eucharist for the first time need to know that
Jesus Christ is truly present in His Body, Blood,
Soul and Divinity, in the Eucharist. Those who
wish to have a child receive First Communion
must meet the following requirements:
•
Child must be a registered member of St.
Agnes or St. Cecilia.
•
Will receive the sacrament of Penance prior
to their First Communion.
•
If the child was not baptized at St. Agnes or
St. Cecilia, the child’s parents will provide a
baptismal certificate from the parish where
he or she was baptized.
Summer Program
Totus Tuus
Totus Tuus, a Latin phrase meaning "totally
yours," was the motto of Pope John Paul II.
Taken from St. Louis de Montfort’s True
Devotion to Mary, it signifies our desire to give
ourselves entirely to Jesus Christ through
Mary.
Mission of Totus Tuus
To inspire in young people a true longing for
holiness, a deep desire for daily conversion,
and an openness to their vocation by
constantly challenging them to give themselves
entirely to Christ through Mary and by
continually strengthening their prayer lives in
imitation of Her. All this is done in a way
children and teens enjoy.
